RIU Hotels: Cancún, Guanacaste and Punta Cana
The inauguration of the new water-play area at Hotel Riu Ventura Cancún is one of our most recent interventions in the Caribbean. A project that joins those previously developed in Punta Cana and Costa Rica for RIU Hotels & Resorts, reflecting our experience in designing leisure spaces for the hotel sector in the Caribbean and Central America.
At Hotel Riu Ventura Cancún, in Mexico, we created a themed environment inspired by the sea. The space combines play, imagination, and design tailored to family‑friendly audiences.
The project includes a 123 m² splashpark with 18 play elements, recommended for children aged 1 to 10, with capacity for 35–40 users simultaneously. It is complemented by a 166 m² children’s pool (depth -0.30 m), featuring a large pirate ship with 33 play elements, designed for ages 4 to 12.
Each area has been custom‑designed, integrating safety, functionality, and visual appeal to create a unique experience.

At Hotel Riu Palace Bavaro, in Punta Cana, we designed a waterpark integrated into the resort’s overall concept, creating a dynamic themed environment that enhances the family experience within the complex. Conceived as a gateway to the Splash Water World universe, the space invites guests to navigate the Caribbean aboard a large pirate ship with 30 play elements—slides, water curtains, cannons, tipping buckets, and interactive jets.
For younger children, we added a sensory splashpark that stimulates motor skills and interaction, and extended the experience with an outdoor playground designed to continue play beyond the water.

At Hotel Riu Guanacaste, in Costa Rica, we developed a splashpark designed to harmonize with the tropical landscape and accommodate different age ranges, becoming a new focal point within the hotel. Inspired by the dynamism of the sea, we created Secretos del Mar, a splash area of more than 150 m² with 28 play elements and capacity for 55 children simultaneously.
Integrated cohesively with the hotel’s existing leisure facilities, it combines interaction, excitement, and safety in an environment aligned with the property’s aesthetics.

Three customized projects, each designed according to the specific needs of its establishment, all sharing the vision and identity of Riu Hotels & Resorts.
